Ever observed how we prefer to sit and behave when we are waiting for something in public areas? Rather alone while we are avoiding everyone’s eyes, trying desperately to act like we’re too concerned with our own business. BREAK respects this human behaviour. The angle of the back and the seat that is split in two make you turn away from strangers. In that way BREAK makes it possible for you to do some serious thinking while you wait.
In 2004 Norway Says designed BREAK with the intention to create a waiting room sofa that would meet the need for privacy in public environments. And the result was warmly welcomed. BREAK was the same year nominated for the Honours Award for Design Excellence by the Norwegian Design Council and received the +1 iF Design Award.
