Area: Unknown
Location: Theater District, New York, USA

Times Square in New York has more than 460,000 people visited each day. It is the world's most visited tourist destination, with 42 million visitors a year.

Times Square is a small area of Manhattan in New York. The area is bordered by the 6th and 9th avenues from east to west, and 39th and 52th street from south to north. The center of this area is formed where Broadway crosses 42th to 45th street, and is a hectic cultural and commercial hub. Many of New York's most famous theaters are located here, as well as TV stations (including MTV), banks, adventure centers and other media companies like Reuters and Viacom.

Times Square is the only area in town that instructs tenants to mount exterior neon commercials, which has made the site a spectacular icon for the city of New York.

Times Square has its name after the newspaper The New York Times, which moved its headquarters in 1904. In 2010, the Norwegian architect Snøhetta won the offer to redesign the space, which was completed in 2017.
